Michele S. Lee Endowed Scholarship for Lifelong Learning
In memory of Michele S. Lee
October 24, 1952 - June 3, 2021
Michele was a cherished faculty member at ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ University for nearly 30 years. She was instrumental in establishing the Manhattan Library, overseeing the transition to the new ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏManhattan Campus space and ensuring that students had access to all the support services needed to pursue their dreams of a college degree.
Michele's Impact at ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ

³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ University suffered a great loss with the passing of our beloved friend and colleague, Michele S. Lee, MSLIS, M.S. ’06, Pd.M. honoris causa ’15. Passionate in her vision for the library as a welcoming place of learning, Michele inspired students, faculty and staff with her generosity, warmth and dedication to ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ.
Michele came to ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ in 1992 with her M.S. in Library & Information Sciences from Pratt Institute. Fourteen years later at the age of 54, Michele earned a M.S. at ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ University in Human Resource Management, and at 68, she was completing her dissertation to earn a Doctorate in Organizational Leadership from Walden University. Michele exemplified life-long learning.
Michele’s love of learning prompted her to leave a bequest naming the University as a beneficiary. She wanted to give others the same opportunities she was given. It gave Michele tremendous joy knowing her planned gift would help educate future generations of students.
It is our privilege to share with you that ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ will memorialize Michele by naming the ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏManhattan Library in her honor and establish the Michele S. Lee Endowed Scholarship for Lifelong Learning.
Join us in supporting the Michele S. Lee Endowed Scholarship with your gift in memory of our beloved friend and colleague.
Scorpio Rogers
Interim Vice President of ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏManhattan
